2024 - The Door

I finished BIANCA JAMES 2nd record recently. Played bass, guitar, keys, percussion on all 10 tracks, co wrote 8 songs, arranged the brass for 2 songs, strings on 1 song, tracked tons of OD’s at Exeter, edited everything and handed it off to genius mix engineer Vic Florencia. He smashed it and the record is sounding like a wild child !! I also just completed my work on a 10 song Jazz record with DENIELLE BASSELS. What a powerhouse singer and songwriter. She also has a heart of gold. I’m off to L.A. this week to learn Ableton Live so I can run bigger shows where bringing orchestra or choir or brass section isn’t possible. I’m excited. I’m crossing a threshold into a more immersive live environment and the challenge is exciting ! I need to build a show for HONORE first and then MICHAELA MAY. Honore is a soul artist from Detroit with full sweeping cinematic Motown inspired arrangements who (scuse pun) rips like Minnie Ripperton and bowls you over with big love. Michaela May is working on a record now and I’m stunned by what’s going on there (in a good way) I can’t talk about it (NDA) but things are heating up there. I’m also working with an artist named Melo. We tracked a tune called “Devil’s Fruit Punch” and the results were killin’ Reminds me of Miseducation a bit. Big Vibes here ! I’m also working with a cat called Eric Folino on a tune right now called “The World Began This Morning” and this young dude’s writing shows great promise. He’s a combination of young and mind blowing. I’m also working on an EP with Sam Hudson. Sam’s from the East Coast but rockin’ it in the big smoke. His songs are trippy explorations of poignant life experiences seen from enough of a distance so as not to hurt as much. Thought provoking and lovely. Almost done. I’m also waiting on mixes for the latest David Marshak record. David is an unrelenting and uncompromising artist. Marty Pants is mixing so we’re in good hands. There’s more …. tbc
