My History …
Every band I was in taught me a lot. Working with others who share the desire to sound great, what a producer’s role is, what an engineer, manager, publicist, live crew, publisher, promoter, agent, label’s roles are and a plethora of things associated with each of these (and the ones I haven’t mentioned) roles. My first band ‘Five Guys Named Moe” was signed to RCA in London. We did alright with a solid handful of top 10’s and 20’s throughout the UK, Europe and Canada. That was my first experience with being signed and generally speaking I enjoyed it. I had respect for the head of A & R Korda Marshall but in reality RCA UK didn’t know what to do with us and when BMG bought RCA we were culled. The second band I was in as a live member. I’d done some demos with Nightcrawlers early on before they were signed to Island and then once the deal was inked I got the call to join the team live as bassist. Nightcrawlers “Push The Feeling On” went to #1 in about a dozen countries and cemented them as a seminal House act because Mark Kinchen (MK) remixed what was essentially a soul song and made it into a massive House hit. It was a lot of fun touring with this band. Great people and friends to this day. The third band I was in was Joydrop. I met songwriter and drummer Tony Rabalao and we did some studio and live work as session players together. It was on the road that we hatched the idea of putting Joydrop together. We were signed to Hip Hop label Tommyboy Records NYC, Warner Chappell NYC, BMG Canada, Warners, Rhino and now Reservoir. We had 2 x #1’s in Canada and Australia and 2 x Top 20’s in the US. We logged a lot of miles, met great people, created memories and most importantly learned about life/music. As cool as the past is for me it’s about what my history can do for you the artist. How can we get you played on radio and playing on the big stage ? There’s a lot to it but I’m always willing to share the knowledge I’ve picked up on this infinity bus ride !!
